When I returned home to Winnipeg a month and a half ago, my sister and I spent two back-to-back evenings powering through mini-photoshoots. Thus far, it’s been the groundwork for a number of blog posts this summer (including this, this, and this, on top of her graduation shoot done on a different day). …By Night is another creation born from that incredibly productive time together.
We envisioned a ninja-themed session so I dolled her up in black leggings, gloves, and shirt. (Our mom had a solid laugh watching us get ready.) I convinced my sister to climb up a transmission tower for some serious ninja poses and boy, did she get into it. I have a few more winning shots I might post later. This photo was the second last one I took that night.
Thanks to some clever cropping, I managed to create the illusion that my model is much higher up the tower than she actually is. Then, I played with the colouring and added some clouds, fog and a moon to give more texture and atmosphere to the relatively flat sky. Lastly, I fixed her hair and clothing to finish off the sleek ninja look.
